Born in the State of Washington, Susan Hahn has spent most of her adult life in northern California. Susie and her husband John raised three daughters and a son in San Ramon. They then lived for short periods in Houston, St. Louis, and Los Angeles, before returning to northern California in Folsom. Their children now reside locally, and in Seattle, Dallas, and Los Angeles. Susie and John are the proud grandparents of a growing family, a tremendous source of joy and pride for which they give thanks to God every day.

With an invitation by friends and neighbors, who appreciated the warmth and hospitality of Holy Trinity Church, Susie and John headed for El Dorado Hills one Sunday in 1999 to participate in Mass. They have been a part of the parish community since that day.

Religious education has always been a part of Susie's life. Having served as a catechist while her own children were in school, she transitioned to full-time teaching, and directing choir and campus ministry in Houston and St. Louis; returning to California, Susie then taught third grade at St. John Vianney School in Rancho Cordova before assuming the position of Director of Religious Education in the Ministry of Family Faith Formation at Holy Trinity.

At the outset, Susie's role was to design and implement an ongoing process of religious formation for families with children, from pre-school through eighth grade, that affirms the teachings of the Catholic Church---a commitment which motivated her to secure her Masters Degree in Religious Education from Loyola University. Her catechetical ministry soon expanded to both religious education in the daily academic school program as well as the weekly religious program, and includes ongoing preparation and training for catechists and religion teachers, support for families and staff, and evaluation of the educational process. She credits the tremendous growth in this ministry to a dynamic parish community who actively seek to share with one another this light of faith as they serve the People of God. The ministry works hand-in-hand with all other ministries complementing the vision of the parish: "to make the presence of the risen Lord a positive, vibrant, and ever-growing spiritual and social experience."
